Hey, Baby

This was first written on acoustic guitar; an early recording on 4-track. Probably around 1985.

Later, I recorded another version on piano and that is the one I offered to Suno for remixing here.

I suggested she apply glitch liberally and she didn’t disappoint.

All of my memories
Remain
I talk about safety
But ignore the pain
But how many victims
Choked in the grasp
No one is given
Too much of a chance

Hey, baby
Come hold onto me
Then maybe
We’ll never see

Too many heroes
And not enough time
To add up the zeroes
Or erect the shrines
Or conquer the evil
That lurks near our homes
Squelch the upheaval
Or barricade the danger zones

Hey, baby
Come hold onto me
Then maybe
We can be free

Hey, baby
Come hold onto me
Then (then maybe!) maybe
We can be free
