The Tapegerms used in this recording are a result of a Game Germ which is an app page at tapegerm.com which provides a random selection of 10 source audio files for a composer who is challenged to use them all in a new composition. I developed the app a couple of years ago and I find it’s an interesting exercise from time to time. Go check it out.
I’ve taken this set of ten sources and put them into a new software synthesizer called Cube by Lunacy Audio. I’ve begun my own review of it here, but it’s mainly a video from Venus Theory at this point. I’ll add my own thoughts after I’ve worked with it for a while longer.
For this track it provides the evolving, swirling backdrop of whirring and machine and chaotic rumble.
Twilight refers to both early evening and early morning.
