Lemon Magazine

Exhibit #00606

Lemon Magazine was an Australian underground music magazine by Louise Lemon of Glebe, outside of Sydney.

Lemon and Louise came to GAJOOB via Cameron Craig whose Brain Pain Sampler cassettes were filled with choice underground Aussie bands.

Cameron and Louise made a stop in Salt Lake while taking Amtrack through the states while they were at a music/art school workshop in California. We stayed up late, talking about our zines, and in the morning they wanted to see the Great Salt Lake and then up to the mountains to make snow angels.

I found out years after the fact that Louise was an early casualty of cancel culture as local and national media skewered her for something she wrote in her zine. An article in I-94 Bar has details.

I believe in finding the innate truth behind the music, and bringing that forward. I listened to the feeling and rhythm, letting the tempo become ingrained on my soul. And then I sped it all up twice as fast and sang about dicks.Matthew Lee aka Sausage Boy
