Briyan Frederick – Doris Gets Her Oats Vol. 1 (1980’s 4-track Recordings)

This is my first album released on cassette in the early 1980’s. These were recorded on a Tascam Porta One 4-track cassette recorder. It’s mostly solo, but a lot of friends and family get roped in often enough. Most of the songs were made while I was still in college living with my parents in Smithfield. A few toward the end were recorded in Salt Lake while I was with my brother Wayne and Chrissy. A couple were recorded after they kicked me out.

Germinated!

You’re welcome to sample Doris Gets Her Oats and make something new.

Send me your recordings containing something sourced from the album for a new Tapegerm Collective album. You’ll get a few download codes when the album is released and a link here. Have fun with it! Feel free to discuss on the dabodab discord.

From the first moments, listeners are enveloped in a muffled blanket of magnesium oxide, where random audio snippets—voices, sounds, mechanical clicks, and clacks of Walkmans—create a collage that feels both familiar and disorientingly novel.gajoobzine.com/albums/x1-the-art-of-k7-vol-2/
